NYSE American Options Adds Extended Trading Hours Starting October 19, 2026

NYSE American Options will add Extended Trading Hours for 29 equity option classes on Monday, October 19, 2026, pending regulatory effectiveness. Most of those names gain an Early Trading Session before the open and a Late Trading Session after the close.

Five of them do not. GLD, IWM, QQQ, SPY, and XLF already trade until 4:15 PM. They gain the Early Session and stay in the Core Session until 4:15 PM, rather than moving into a separate Late Session.

All other option classes on NYSE American keep their current hours.

The New Schedule

All times are Eastern.

• Pre-Open (order entry only): 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM
• Early Trading Session: 7:30 AM to 9:25 AM
• Core Trading Session: 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Late Trading Session: 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM

On shortened trading days, the Early Session runs as usual. The Core Session closes at 1:00 PM (1:15 PM for GLD, IWM, QQQ, SPY, and XLF), and the Late Session runs 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM.
